Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on We’d we Wednesday hosted a pivotal meeting that brought together over 25 seasoned professionals from diverse creative disciplines.
Attendees included photographers, cinematographers, filmmakers, drone pilots, and specialists in wedding, commercial, and corporate photography.
Many participants are founders of esteemed brands with over a decade of experience in the region. The gathering focused on addressing shared challenges, such as persistent payment delays by clients and the need for a robust support network within the creative community.
During the session, senior visual artist Junaid Bhat underscored the group’s commitment to social impact, stating:
“InshaAllah, we will work toward societal betterment by nurturing young talent passionate about photography and cinematography. This is only the beginning.”
The group unanimously agreed to form a dedicated association to advocate for photographers and filmmakers across North Kashmir. Beyond safeguarding members’ professional rights, the association will elevate the region’s creative culture through free workshops, photography walks, and educational initiatives.
By fostering emerging talent and promoting ethical, high-quality work, the association aims to enhance the reputation of North Kashmir’s visual arts sector and empower the next generation of storytellers.
This initiative heralds a transformative chapter—where art, community, and vision converge for a brighter future.
