Says Flim Tourism Booms In Kashmir Again
Srinagar, Nov 07: Kashmir is witnessing a significant surge in the return of filmmakers from all over the country who have once again chosen the scenic valley as their preferred destination for shooting movies, web series, and documentaries.
During a Mahurat shot ceremony of a bilingual feature film, Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Syed Abid Rashid Shah as per The Web Story Correspondent expressed his optimism about the growing trend of film tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. He revealed that the government has granted shooting permissions for a remarkable 400 movies, with approximately 250 already completed. Shah further emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir’s unparalleled natural beauty and captivating settings make it a top choice for renowned production houses across the nation, a sentiment that many filmmakers echo.
The recent visits of filmmakers to Kashmir for shooting further solidify its status as a go-to location for the film fraternity.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently visited the valley to shoot Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming film, Dunki, where he portrays the role of an Army officer. The team captured breathtaking landscapes of Sonmarg and explored the nearby Thajiwas glacier while filming a song. Similarly, filmmaker Karan Johar, accompanied by top actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, arrived at the Gulmarg Ski Resort for the shooting of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. While Gulmarg remains a favorite spot, other hidden gems such as Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Doodhpathri are now being promoted to filmmakers.
