New Delhi, Oct 23: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday cited Operation Sindoor as an example of innovative thinking, enhanced synergy and superior coordination, stressing that future military operations would require an integrated approach and the effective use of advanced weaponry.
Addressing the Army Commanders’ Conference, Rajnath Singh said the Indian Army must develop a long-term strategic vision spanning the next 20 to 30 years while remaining prepared to respond to immediate and emerging security challenges.
Referring to the changing nature of warfare, the Defence Minister underlined the importance of multi-domain capabilities and seamless coordination in joint operations.
He said the experience of Operation Sindoor highlighted the role of coordination, technological capabilities and operational preparedness in modern military engagements.
Rajnath Singh said the Army needed to maintain a balance between long-term strategic planning and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving threats.
He stressed that military preparedness must account for changes in the geopolitical environment as well as developments in the character of warfare.
The Defence Minister also released the Land Warfare Doctrine, aimed at strengthening the Army’s preparedness for future operational challenges.
His remarks placed emphasis on drawing lessons from recent military operations and incorporating them into the Army’s future planning, training and operational doctrines.
Rajnath Singh said an integrated approach was essential to modern warfare, where success increasingly depended on the ability of the armed forces to coordinate across multiple domains and deploy capabilities in a complementary manner.
