Woman allegedly killed by In-laws in Handwara

Kupwara, Dec 07: A Family of a woman from Dorus village of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday accused the in-laws of their daughter’s murder in Zachaldara area of Handwara.

“Yesterday late last night, my sister my Uzma (23), was brutality thrashed by her in-laws including her husband and left her critically injured following which she was referred to SKIMS hospital Srinagar where she succumbed,” brother of deceased told the news agency.

He alleged that the victim was allegedly murdered by her in-laws and his husband as she was being harassed for money of her father. He also urges police to arrest all those involved in the alleged murder of his sister.

Meanwhile a senior police officer said that the investigation is on to ascertain the actual cause of the woman’s death as we are waiting for the autopsy report while the husband of victim is absconding. However police is in search of and hopefully he will be arrested soon.
