Robust security is in place to thwart any militant attempt.

Srinagar: Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said on Wednesday that in the past four years, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has been quite peaceful, with major success to the security forces in declining the number of militants.

While informing the Rajya Sabha, he said that the number of militants active in J&K has been reduced and is under control to a large extent.

He said the government has been successful in strengthening the path of peace and development in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the last four years.

He said to tackle militants, an attempt a robust security and intelligence grid is in place in Jammu and Kashmir.
