Kulgam, Oct 3 : The Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles on Saturday organised a medical and veterinary camp for the Gujjar-Bakarwal community at Mandobal Closure Ground here under Operation Sadbhavana, officials said.
The camp provided essential healthcare services to residents and veterinary assistance for their livestock, an important source of livelihood for families in the remote area.
Officials said the outreach also gave Army personnel an opportunity to interact directly with locals and understand their concerns and requirements.
Residents appreciated the initiative, saying access to medical and veterinary services closer to their homes was of great help, and thanked the 34 Rashtriya Rifles for reaching out to the remote community.
Besides medical and veterinary aid, the camp served as a platform for civil-military interaction under Operation Sadbhavana, contributing to goodwill among residents, the officials said.
The initiative reflects the Army’s continued community engagement in far-flung areas where access to healthcare and veterinary services remains a challenge, they added.
