Bandipora 25 Dec: Engineering and entrepreneurship are in different directions. But when it comes to problem-solving techniques, engineering graduates are more open to solving crises.
And one such engineer from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district who turned an entrepreneur is doing his best in solving the job crisis.
An engineer, who is from Bandipora district, shunned a career in the corporate world to satiate the appetite of people through restaurant business.
At the age of 28, the entrepreneur Faisal Faheem Jan is feeling satisfied by becoming an employment generator instead of an employment seeker. He is the founder of “Mazze Balai” Cafe & restaurant.
A restaurant at Bandipora district, Ajas Tehsil which serves Coffee, Shakes, cold drinks, Pizza, Fries, Dishes, Chinese, Continental, Biryani & Kashmiri traditional wazwan.
The owner of the restaurant Faisal told The Web Story, “I was thinking of starting a restaurant from college days, along with studies. So I pursued this passion and became a restaurant owner.”
He said that he always wanted to create employment opportunities and presently he is providing employment to 11 youth from different rural areas of Kashmir and has also started Food delivery service MB Food delivery service in which two local students are engaged and doing their job as a part time.
“I was working in reputed construction companies of India like NCC,HCC,GMR, NBCC as a project engineer but found no satisfaction in it. It was then I decided to become a boss myself rather than working under someone” he added.
Faisal said that when he discussed food business with his family, they ridiculed the idea, but now they have an appreciative conviction and courage to take the risk.
“I am the first in my family to delve into business,” he added
The young entrepreneur also plans to set some money for charity.
“I want to feed the needy, provide employment to the unemployed youth from rural areas,” he said.
Faisal’s advice to youth is that they should engage themselves in productive things and that will save them from negative forces.
A local Tahir Rather said that for the past three years business was down due to COVID and under these circumstances opening a new business unit is a good thing.
The cafe started by Faisal is providing employment to many people of the area. It is something adorable,” he added.
