Can His Contest Affect Junior Baig?

WS/VP Desk

Baramulla, Sep 06: The Baramulla Assembly seat is once again immersed in political activities as former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, has announced that he will be contesting the seat as an independent candidate, adding further interest to the upcoming elections.

Sources have informed The Web Story/The Varmul Post that Muzaffar Hussain Baig, while addressing a political rally, announced his intention to contest the Baramulla seat as an independent candidate.

According to the sources, former NC leader Ghulam Hassan Rahi has expressed support for Senior Baig after he failed to secure the party’s mandate.

Sources suggest that with Senior Baig’s announcement, the Baramulla seat has taken an interesting turn, and it is believed that his contest could pose challenges for Junior Baig, potentially leading to a different direction in Baramulla politics in the coming days.

Insiders, while speaking to The Web Story/The Varmul Post, have revealed that Senior Baig and former NC leader Rahi have reached an understanding to contest the election, and it is believed that influential individuals from Baramulla will join them.

Senior Baig’s announcement has once again stirred up Baramulla politics, and according to political analysts, his candidacy will significantly damage the National Conference’s prospects.

Only time will tell whether Senior Baig’s influence will grow stronger or if Junior Baig will succeed in establishing his presence within the National Conference.

Meanwhile, other contestants in the Baramulla seat are also playing their roles in their own unique ways.

PDP’s Rafeeq Rather, youth leader Tauseef Raina, AIP candidate Shoiab Lone, and PC candidate Asif Lone are all in the race, each striving to emerge victorious. However, only time will reveal the choice of the people’s crown.
