Baramulla, February 27, 2025 – Chinar Yuva Centre, Baramulla, proudly felicitated Wushu champion Musharaf Qayoom today, celebrating his outstanding achievements on the international stage. Fresh from his triumph at the European Professional Sanda League (ESPL) in Georgia, Musharaf was welcomed with great enthusiasm by students and faculty.

During the event, Musharaf reflected on his inspiring journey—from humble beginnings in Old Town Baramulla to competing at the highest levels of Wushu. He spoke about the challenges he faced, including limited resources and the rigorous demands of professional sports. However, with unwavering determination and dedicated training under Ishfaq Wani and DSP Kuldeep Handoo, he carved a path to success.

Addressing young athletes at the Chinar Yuva Centre, Musharaf emphasized the values of discipline, perseverance, and resilience. He urged youth to stay away from negative influences like drug abuse and instead channel their energy into sports and self-improvement. “Sports is not just about medals; it’s about character, hard work, and leading by example,” he remarked, encouraging the next generation to pursue their dreams with dedication.

The felicitation ceremony saw the presence of local dignitaries, sports enthusiasts, and aspiring athletes who regard Musharaf as a role model. The event concluded with gratitude extended to the Wushu Association of India, the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, and the Punit Balan Group for their unwavering support in shaping his journey.

As Musharaf Qayoom continues his pursuit of excellence, Baramulla and the entire nation rally behind him. His success is not just a personal milestone but a beacon of inspiration for young athletes across Kashmir and beyond.
