WS/VP Desk

Srinagar, Jan 24 (WS/VP) : Bollywood is thriving in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with a continuous flow of shoots for movies, serials, and other commercial activities taking place in different parts of the region.

In the latest development, as per The Web Story/The Varmul Post Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel, renowned for her performances in ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ ‘Gadar 2’ was spotted in the summer capital of Srinagar on Tuesday, filming for her upcoming movie “Firdous”.

According to reports, the ‘Gadar 2’ actress was seen shooting at the renowned shrine of Dastgeer Sahib in the Khanyar area of Srinagar.

It was also reported that joining Ameesha Patel on the sets was Zoya Afroz, an Indian actress, model, and former beauty pageant winner.

Pertinently, After the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed a surge in film shoots, with nearly 350 crews permitted in the last few years. This marks a record number in the past four decades, as the region’s popularity as a filming destination had declined due to insurgency. However, with the introduction of a new film policy, filmmakers have shown keen interest in shooting their movies here.

The policy aims to utilize local talent and boost employment opportunities, thus revitalizing Jammu & Kashmir as a coveted destination for the entertainment industry.(WS/VP)
