In the heart of the town, where laughter once bloomed,
Echoes of joy now lie tangled, entombed.
The colors have faded, the laughter grown thin,
A shadow has settled where sunlight had been.
The caravan halted, each soul in dismay,
As dreams turned to dust in the cruel light of day.
Once hand in hand, we danced through the night,
Now whispers of worry drown out all the light.
Dr. Shahwar’s daughter, in wedding attire,
Stands still in the silence, her heart turned to fire.
Two weeks of promise, now shattered and torn,
With her father’s absence, her spirit feels worn.
The flowers that bloomed on that bright fateful day
Now darkened by loss, in sorrow they sway.
Militants’ shadows, like specters of night,
Have stolen her laughter, erased her delight.
Yet within all this darkness, a flicker remains,
A strength born of sorrow, through loss and through pains.
Though the neighborhood weeps, its spirit can mend,
For even in desolation, hope dares to ascend.
As hearts intertwine, through grief we will stand,
With love as our compass, united we’ll band.
We’ll honor the memories, each story retold—
In a tapestry woven of silver and gold.
So here’s to the dreams that still flicker and gleam,
And to all those who fight for a kinder tomorrow’s dream.
In the ruins of loss, new blossoms will grow,
For life, in its essence, is resilient, you know.
Pertinently, A doctor was among seven employees of an infrastructure company who were attacked and killed in the first major incident targeting construction workers on a large infrastructure project in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday evening.
