Sopore : “Digital Dream” has made dreams come true for the Sopore Journal Duo, who have opened the first of its kind studio to contribute positively to society.
Umar Dar and Asif Rather, two journalism students from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, have established a digital studio where they can podcast and pursue their other professional work.
In a conversation with The Web Story, the duo explained that their aim was to secure their own future and utilize their skills for the betterment of society. They believe that their venture will provide a platform not only for aspiring journalists, but also for those looking to make a career in the digital era.
They added that journalism students often face difficulties in finding positions in media organizations for various reasons. However, with the rise of social media, one can contribute to society and build a successful future without relying on traditional organizations.
In the age of technology, where social media platforms play a crucial role, the duo emphasized that these platforms not only open doors to a bright future, but also offer opportunities to contribute and raise awareness for society.
The studio was officially inaugurated on Sunday, with the presence of journals from the district.
Suhail Khan, the President of Sopore Media Association, expressed his appreciation and pride for two members of the association who have fulfilled their dream of opening their own studio. He commended their dedication and hard work, emphasizing that it is an achievement not only for them but for the entire association.
Khan emphasized that the establishment of this studio would enable the duo to make even more significant contributions to society, particularly for the people of Sopore town. He believed that through their podcasts, they could bring attention to important social issues and create a positive impact. He noted that their studio could also serve as a valuable resource for aspiring young journalists, providing them with opportunities to learn and grow.
Speaking on the occasion, the Editor-In-Chief of The Varmul Post, Muneeb-ul-Haq, expressed his excitement in seeing young individuals coming up with innovative ideas, which he believes is crucial in this digital era. He mentioned that these young journalists will not only be self-dependent but will also make significant contributions to society.
Muneeb-ul-Haq also extended his congratulations to both individuals for successfully opening their own studio.
Radio Chinar Station Head Sahil Muzaffar also encouraged the duo for taking this positive step towards a better future.
In conversation with The Web Story, he expressed his delight in seeing young budding journalists making a difference amidst the mushroom growth.
He said, the days are gone when mass communication students struggled to find jobs. In today’s era, he believes that if you are talented, opportunities will seek you out. With a creative mind, you can also create opportunities for others.
