The educational institutions in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will observe closures on October 23, 24, and 26. This move aims to facilitate festivities.

On October 23, which marks the Mahanavami festival, all schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed. This festival holds great reverence in the region.

Similarly, on October 24, educational institutions will be closed to commemorate Dussehra, one of the most widely celebrated Hindu festivals around the country.

On October 26, educational institutions will observe a holiday on the occasion of Accession Day. This day holds immense historical significance for the region, as it commemorates the signing of the Instrument of Accession between the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir and the Dominion of India in 1947.
