A 23-year-old journalism student from Kashmir has emerged as a leading force in preserving and promoting the unique culture of her homeland.

Shereen Namam Shafiee, a resident of Barzulla Srinagar, is currently pursuing her studies in Journalism and Mass Communication at the Islamic University of Science and Technology. However, her impact extends far beyond the academic realm, as she has immersed herself in the ancient traditions, art, and culture that have shaped Kashmir’s history for centuries.

Shereen’s journey as a cultural activist began during her time as the former chief speaker and writer at the Young India Foundation. It was in this role that she honed her skills in communication and advocacy while connecting with like-minded individuals who share her fervor for heritage preservation.

Notably, Shereen has also authored a book titled ‘Reminiscence of the Past – Antiques and Souvenirs from the Valley.’ This recently published work serves as a testament to her unwavering dedication to reviving and safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir. Through her eloquent words, Shereen brings to life the stories, artifacts, and traditions that embody the essence of her homeland.
