Budgam, Dec 26: Muneer Ahmad Dar, a resident of the Khag area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, has initiated a movement to revive and preserve the cultural heritage of the valley through his content in the Kashmiri language. Muneer has gained widespread popularity as a social media educator rather than a mere sensation.
In his videos, Muneer explores the ancient interiors of far-flung areas and regions of the valley, collecting valuable and rare information to share with his viewers. His YouTube channel, ‘Muneer Speaks,’ is a treasure trove of knowledge about the age-old Kashmiri culture and lifestyle from bygone days.
Speaking to The Web Story, Muneer said that “our society has been overshadowed by external influences and cultures. I want to present our culture in an interesting way through social media, engaging the youth and reconnecting them with our roots.
“I am delighted to serve as an ambassador of Kashmiri culture. It brings me great satisfaction when people appreciate my hard work. I feel I have dedicated something meaningful to my beloved Kashmir,” added Muneer.
He said, “I have always been inspired by Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Alam RA and used to translate his “Kalam,” which means poetry in Kashmiri.”
