Srinagar, June 19: Former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Amarjeet Singh Dulat, has said that India does not want killings to happen in Kashmir, but it is only Pakistan that keeps the bowl hot.
AS Dulat, as per The Web Story, told the national media during his visit to Srinagar that Pakistan doesn’t want any Kashmiri to be a leader out of their will and is always desperate to keep the violence cycle hot.
He also said that it is being stated that Pakistan is behind the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, who was killed in 2016 in the Bamdoora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag. “Pakistan doesn’t want any Kashmiri to be a leader out of their will. The emergence of the late Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone in Kashmir’s separatist politics irked Pakistan. They didn’t want any big leader other than Syed Ali Shah Geelani, so they disposed of Lone Sahib,” Dulat added.
“The BJP has curbed terrorism and militancy in J&K, but it requires constant watch. We need to constantly keep an eye on Kashmir. We need to deal with Kashmir in a political way. The Hurriyat and separatism are redundant now. There is a need to talk with mainstream political parties or their amalgamated PAGD,” the former intelligence chief said.
