Srinagar, Jun 02: Lieutenant General A.D.S. Aujla, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Chinar Corps, expressed confidence in the Indian Army’s preparedness to handle any situation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The GOC quoted by national media as per The Web Story, highlighted the concerns regarding infiltration, narcotics smuggling, and the illicit transfer of ammunition in the region.
Regarding the current state of affairs, Lieutenant General Aujla stated, “What worries us or concerns us at this point in time, majorly nothing.”
However, he emphasized the army’s apprehension regarding the physical infiltration attempts, the rampant narcotics trade, and the influx of ammunition across the border.
Lieutenant General Aujla, who possesses extensive experience in Jammu and Kashmir, expressed the army’s unwavering commitment to securing the region and maintaining peace along the LoC.
He assured the public that the Indian Army was fully prepared to tackle any eventuality that may arise.
The GOC’s remarks shed light on the persistent challenges faced by the security forces in the volatile region.
The issue of infiltration from across the border has long been a concern for India, and the army remains vigilant to counter such threats. In addition, the rampant smuggling of narcotics poses a significant menace, exacerbating the social fabric of the region and funding unlawful activities.
The officer said that the Indian Army has implemented stringent measures to address these issues, including enhanced surveillance, intelligence-gathering, and coordinated operations with various security agencies.
