Srinagar, Oct 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha shared his joy at the final match of the Legends League Cricket, stating, “It is a matter of great delight that such a significant cricket tournament has been held in Srinagar.”
The final match of the Legends League Cricket took place at Bakshi Stadium, marking a remarkable comeback for cricket in the region after a 36-year hiatus.
As pr The Web Story/The Varmul Post Correspondent, Lt Governor Sinha emphasized that the Legends League Cricket tournament has reignited cricket enthusiasm throughout the Kashmir Valley.
He highlighted, “This is the result of the peace efforts made over the last four to five years. We began this journey in Jammu last year, and now we proudly stand here in Srinagar.”
The Lieutenant Governor also praised the transformation of Bakshi Stadium into a venue of international quality, made possible by a generous allocation of Rs 46 crore from Prime Minister Modi. “With these developments, Bakshi Stadium and MA Stadium are now equipped to host any international cricket match,” he further added.
Pertinently, as per reports around 28,000 people are currently at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, watching the final of the Legends League Cricket.
