Lucknow, Oct 23 : Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday said Mission Karmayogi aims to transform governance by shifting from a rule-based system to a role-based approach, with a focus on building competencies among government employees.
Addressing the Lucknow regional workshop of ‘Sadhana Shrinkhla 2026’, organised by the Capacity Building Commission, Dr Singh said capacity building was intended to help officials move beyond routine file processing and develop the skills needed to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
He said the Capacity Building Commission was conceptualised under Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of a series of governance reforms initiated after he assumed office in 2014.
Highlighting participation in the iGOT Karmayogi platform, Singh said more than 19 lakh officials and employees from Uttar Pradesh had registered on it, contributing to a national participation of around 1.7 crore.
He also highlighted the Unified New Age National Training Initiative (UNNATI), which connects training institutions across the country to facilitate collaboration, resource sharing and alignment with the government’s capacity-building requirements.
Singh said 370 training institutions from Uttar Pradesh had joined the initiative.
He said such initiatives were aimed at strengthening the capabilities of government personnel and improving the effectiveness of public administration.
