In Mumbai, a woman invited her lover to her house under the pretext of a New Year’s party, but the man had no idea what the next few hours held for him. The woman had other motives, and she allegedly slashed his private parts. The trigger came from his refusal to marry her, which irked the woman, and she, in a fit of rage, took the extreme step.

According to Vakola Police, the accused, a 25-year-old woman, has been booked for grievous assault after she attacked her 42-year-old partner with a sharp weapon. The incident occurred at Kalina in Santacruz East, where the woman resides.

Police said the victim and the accused were in a relationship for nearly seven years. During this period, the woman repeatedly asked the man to marry her, but he allegedly refused every time. On the pretext of New Year celebrations, the woman invited the man to her house.

In the early hours of Thursday, an argument broke out between the two over marriage, following which the woman allegedly attacked the man with a sharp weapon and mutilated his private parts.

Despite sustaining severe injuries, the victim managed to escape and alerted his brother, who rushed him to VN Desai Hospital for emergency treatment.

A case has been registered against the woman under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing grievous hurt by dangerous means, criminal intimidation, and other offences. The accused is currently absconding, and several teams have been formed to trace her. ( India Today)
