Baramulla, Nov 16 : The Army on Thursday said that despite the onset of winter, attempts of infiltration from Pakistan continue along the line of control LOC in north Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference at the 19 Infantry Division headquarters in Baramulla as per The Web Story, the Army’s Commanding Officer, stated that attempts from Pakistan continue to disturb the peaceful environment in the Kashmir region and that despite the onset of winter, infiltration attempts have not reduced.
Hs said the Indian Army stands ready to face any challenges or attempts to disrupt peace in the region.
Last month, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 28 Div, Maj Gen Girish Kalia, stated that security forces had successfully foiled all the infiltration attempts made from the other side of the Line of Control (LoC).
“There is a constant endeavour to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir, but our alert security forces have thwarted every such attempt, improving the security situation. As a result, development and tourism have gained pace in recent times,” he added.
Earlier this month, BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal also commented on the LoC, saying that there are always attempts from across the border to push in more militants before the onset of winter and closure of tracks due to heavy snowfall. However, the security forces are alert and would foil any infiltration bids.
