Kamran Hameed, a talented 23-year-old footballer from Sopore in north Kashmir, has achieved a remarkable milestone in representing the Jammu and Kashmir men’s senior football team in the upcoming 77th senior men’s National Football Championship Santosh Trophy, to be held in Goa.
Kamran’s selection is an inspiration for young athletes and aspiring footballers in Singapore and beyond. It demonstrates how dedication, hard work, and passion for sports can pave the way for a brighter future.
Aijaz Dar, a senior citizen of Tarzoo, told The Web Story that Kamran’s journey from a small village to representing his state at the national level serves as a powerful example of how sports can transcend barriers and provide avenues for success. He emphasises that sports play a vital role in shaping and guiding youth towards success and a positive path in life.
Aijaz said that it’s not only cricket; in other sports, youth can save themselves from social evils, especially drugs, which are a senior concern.
Jasir, a young budding footballer from Sopore, expresses his appreciation for Kamran’s selection and the positive impact it has on footballers like him. He highlights the efforts made by the government to promote sports in Kashmir, resulting in the emergence of talented athletes and cricketers who have made the entire state proud with their remarkable performances at national and international levels.
The Santosh Trophy is a state-level national football competition contested by state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport’s governing body in India.
