SRINAGAR: The central Kashmir’s Srinagar girl Tasneem Kawoos emerged as the top scorer in the 2023 Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Judicial) Examination, garnering an impressive 628 marks out of a pool of 208 candidates.

Reflecting on her achievement, Kawoos, a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) currently pursuing her LL M there, highlighted the evolving nature of the examination, noting a shift towards analytical prowess over rote memorization.

In her interview with Bar and Bench, she emphasized the importance of developing the skill of analyzing legal issues and comprehending laws rather than merely memorizing provisions.

She underscored the significance of staying abreast of legal developments, advocating for a disciplined study routine and the utilization of legal journals for efficient time management.

“Legal journals presenting abridged forms of judgments in the form of headnotes and short notes are really helpful,” she noted.

In addition to her success in the Civil Services (Judicial) Examination, Kawoos secured the 8th rank in the Prosecuting Officer (PO) examination conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC). (Agencies )
