Srinagar, 19 Nov : The SSP Traffic Rural has urged the public to cooperate with traffic police and follow road safety rules according to the rule book.

The officer stressed the importance of carrying a driving license and other necessary documents while driving.

The SSP also called on parents not to allow their minor children to drive in any circumstances, and those who are allowed to drive should not drive without helmets, licenses, and proper documentation.

The officer said that the Traffic Police faces various challenges with violations such as triple riding, stunt biking, and driving by minors.

In response, he said the traffic police time to time launch special drives to curb these issues and raise awareness about traffic regulations in various areas of the valley.

Ravinder Pal Singh, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, stated that the goal is to reach high-traffic areas and also address issues like overloading and other violations by passenger vehicles, a common trend in the valley.

The officer also cautioned parents against purchasing two-wheelers or cars for their minor children and urged them to monitor their children’s activities to prevent accidents where young lives are finished.

Referring to the recent heartbreaking incidents in the valley, Pal said that the traffic police were committed to ensuring roads are safe for everyone to travel upon, stressing in no way they will show any leniency toward traffic violations.

The officer said the parents should not only ensure the minors are not using their vehicles but they should maintain proper documentation of vehicles and follow road safety rules.

The officer said those having proper documentation for either LMVs, HMVs, three-wheelers or two-wheelers should be aware of almost all important, driving rules and where and when to halt vehicles.

He said another important matter was to follow road signs wherever provided and traffic lights.

The SSP appealed to motorists to follow traffic rules and work with the authorities to ensure road safety. (KNS)
