Secures 488 in Class 10, proves determination writes its own success story

Suhail Khan

Handwara, Jan 15 : True dedication knows no boundaries. Where there is passion, neither poverty nor adversity can hinder success, as has been proven by a Handwara student who secured 488 marks in the Class 10 examinations, the results of which were declared earlier today.

Faizan Majeed Malik, a resident of Guloora, has set an inspiring example by achieving this score despite studying in a makeshift tin shed under challenging circumstances.

Faizan expressed gratitude toward his mentors. “I am at a loss for words to thank my teachers. They have been so guiding and cooperative in shaping who I am today,” he said.

He said resources are not the key to academic success. “One should never make excuses for not studying. What matters is a person’s courage and resolve. I never hesitated or felt ashamed about not having proper accommodation. My only dream was to set an example—to prove that education does not require cozy rooms. It is about you and your effort. With support from my family and teachers, and by the grace of Almighty Allah, I successfully cleared the Class 10 examination with good marks.”

Faizan added, “Those who could not pass or who feel their marks are not up to the mark should not lose heart. Hard work can help one overcome any setback, and there is always another opportunity.”

Village head Farooq Ahmad, described the achievement as a proud moment for the entire district. “He has shown that education can be attained from anywhere, and a person’s hard work matters above all else,” Ahmad said. “Faizan has proved that one does not need five-star accommodation to study; instead, it is the power of determination and effort that overcomes hardship.”

Meanwhile, locals have also praised Faizan’s performance and expressed hope that his story will inspire other students in the region to pursue their academic goals relentlessly.

Meanwhile, The overall pass percentage for the 2025 class 10th session stands at 85.03%, marking a significant improvement over previous years.
