Sopore, Jan 5: When an officer is dedicated to his job, harsh weather—whether it be heavy rains, snowfall, or biting winter mornings—does not deter him. His singular focus remains on achieving justice through his work, regardless of the circumstances.
Such dedication was demonstrated by an officer in the Animal Husbandry Department of Sopore, who ventured into the woods of Sopore to rescue a pregnant cow despite challenging winter weather conditions.
Aninal husbandry department in a statement said that, on Sunday morning, an urgent call was received about an eight-month-pregnant cow that had become recumbent and was unable to rise in the woods. Dr. Rizwan U. Zaman, Assistant Surgeon (VAS), despite being engaged in another departmental program, prioritized the rescue and immediately left his commitments to save the cow, even though he was miles away from the location.
The statement further reads that the road leading to Rampur Rajpora was slippery due to recent heavy snowfall. In spite of the hazards associated with navigating through a forested area, the officer inquired for assistance in the village. After assessing the situation, he was able to quickly rescue the cow.
Meanwhile, it is often said that civil departments are negligent and inefficient; however, there are many officers who view their work as a form of service and play a vital role in society through their dedication. Dr. Rizwan is one such officer who sets an example through his work.
