The match was held at the Bipin Rawat Stadium in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to an Army press release, the league was dedicated to the memory of India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, the Late General Bipin Rawat. The tournament featured 16 teams, comprising eight professional and eight amateur sides, and was jointly supported by the Indian Army, the Baramulla Cricket Forum, and the District Administration.

The week-long league showcased exceptional cricket, with talented female athletes from across Kashmir demonstrating their skills through a series of exciting performances.

The final was a closely contested encounter, with both teams displaying brilliance in all facets of the game. Ultimately, the Anantnag Rebels secured the title through superior all-round execution in batting, fielding, and bowling.

Ms. Rubiya of the Anantnag Rebels was adjudged the Player of the Tournament for her outstanding all-round contributions.

In the amateur league segment, AGS Uri lifted the trophy after overcoming Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Baramulla. Ms. Sania Rashid was named the Player of the Tournament for her stellar performance.

The final and the subsequent presentation ceremony were attended by distinguished guests, including Major General Paranvir Singh Punia, SM, VSM, GOC Dagger Division; Mr. Minga Sherpa, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla; and Mr. Gurinderpal Singh, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Abdul Khaliq Wani, Chairman of the Baramulla Cricket Forum, stated, “The Gen Bipin Rawat Memorial KWPL has truly captured the spirit of Kashmir — resilient, united, and full of promise.
