Srinagar: Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir said on Sunday that his party will not compromise on the people’s rights in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said as per The Web Story that, It has become routine for the BJP to intimidate people and target resources under the garb of new laws, but the Congress Party will neither remain a mute spectator to such measures nor compromise on the people’s rights.
He made these comments while addressing people in Anantnag District.
Mir said unemployment has risen considerably, and visibly the developmental process has received serious setbacks. Though tall claims with regard to development, etc. were being made for publicity and local consumption, the facts remain that so-called B2Vs and frequent visits of Central Ministers have failed to yield any results.
Commenting on the new land laws for 2022, Mir stated that this means that land leased out decades ago will have to be surrendered upon the expiration of the lease, which is justified under the guise of using the same for the development of JKUT, but the law is anti-people and draconian and should not be implemented, Mir demanded.
