From WhatsApp statuses to posts on X (Twitter), Facebook, and other platforms, Kashmir’s social media users have flooded the internet with chants of “RCB! RCB! RCB!”

As the entire nation celebrates Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) long-awaited IPL title win, the excitement in Kashmir is just as intense. Social media is ablaze with a sea of red, echoing the triumphant cries of “RCB! RCB!”

Cricket has always been a maddening craze in Kashmir, and the love for star player Virat Kohli knows no limits. He is adored by people from all walks of life. Today, after an 18-year wait, Kashmiris expressed their joy on social media with an outpouring of support for RCB and Kohli.

Saqib, a die-hard Virat Kohli fan, as per The Web Story /The Varmul Post posted: “Hey Kohli, this victory is all because of you! Don’t make us cry—it’s been incredible to see you as the pillar of RCB. Finally, after 18 years… CHEERS!”

From Saqib to Gul Kak, the passion was the same. Whether watching from Ahmedabad’s stadium or Bengaluru, everyone celebrated RCB’s historic win.

Kashmir has been home to passionate cricket fans for decades . With the changing times and more Kashmiri youth entering the IPL—one of the world’s richest cricket leagues—the love for the sport has only grown stronger.

Notably, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have finally become IPL champions. The 17-year-long wait came to an end as the Rajat Patidar-led side successfully defended their total of 190/9 against Punjab Kings, securing a six-run victory. Krunal Pandya, who has experienced the highs of an IPL title win three times before and was a key catalyst in 2017, delivered yet another match-winning performance. His crucial spell in the middle overs (2-17) stifled PBKS’ chase, leaving them struggling to keep up.
