CM Omar Abdullah Reflects on His Legacy as a ‘Gentleman and Intellectual Giant.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away at 92, Delhi AIIMS informed in a bulletin on Thursday.
He was shifted to the hospital earlier this evening after his health deteriorated.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in it’s statement said Dr. Singh suffered a sudden loss of consciousness at his residence earlier in the evening.
Immediate resuscitative measures were undertaken, and he was rushed to the Medical Emergency at AIIMS, New Delhi, at 8:06 PM.
It reads as, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Dr. Singh could not be revived and was declared dead at 9:51 PM.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a post on X said Very sorry to hear about the demise of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh. I had many occasions to interact & learn from him. He was truly an intellectual giant, an accomplished economist but above all he was a thorough gentleman, a giant among pygmies. India has lost a great son with his passing. Rest in peace sir & thank you for everything.
