SOPORE, SEP. 30: Sanctorum School, a private institution in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district already known for its quality education, is now setting a new benchmark in student athletics.
The school celebrated a spectacular triple victory, winning matches in both cricket and football over the last two days.
While academic excellence remains a priority, Sanctorum places equal importance on sports to ensure students’ mental and physical fitness.
The Managing Director of Sanctorum School, Shakir Ashraf, told The Web Story/The Varmul Post, “We have left no stone unturned in encouraging our young students to participate in sports and co-curricular activities, alongside our efforts to provide a quality education.”
He said on the school’s long-term commitment, noting that for the past ten years, Sanctorum students have competed not only at the district level but across Kashmir and beyond, establishing a reputation for nurturing exceptional young talent.
“My goal is to provide every facility that helps students thrive academically while also ensuring they are physically and mentally prepared for all of life’s challenges,” Shakir stated.
The school’s winning streak was demonstrated in three different matches. Earlier on Monday, the school staff played a friendly cricket match against SRM Welkin, with Sanctorum emerging victorious after an excellent performance.
In a separate match, the school’s football team also shone.
Achieving another milestone, the school’s female team joined the winning momentum by securing victory in the final of the Under-17 Girls League during an inter-school tournament organized by the Terrific Trio Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, former MC President Sopore Musarat Rasool Kar, who attended the final as the chief guest congratulated the Sanctorum girls for their win and praised the efforts of the opposing team for displaying great sportsmanship.
She also stated that women’s health deserves the same attention and priority as sports, as both are vital for overall well-being and progress.
She remarked that just as sports build strength, teamwork, and discipline, focusing on women’s health ensures stronger families, healthier communities, and a more empowered society.
Musarat emphasized, “Women’s health is as important as sports, and both must go hand in hand to create a healthier, stronger future for our girls.”
