Rafiabad, July 30: An elderly man on Tuesday died after he was drowned in a Nalla in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official told The Web Story/The Varmul Post that a man identified as Bashir Ahmad Bhat, son of Habibullah Bhat of Budan Rafiabad, had gone for a bath in the Yarbug Nallah where he slipped into the deep water.
After hectic efforts by the locals, the body was retrieved from the nallah and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the police registered a case and started an investigation.
