Baramulla: Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla Rayees Mohammad Bhat said on Sunday that so far no major infiltration has been reported along the line of control (LOC) this year, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Addressing the media at 19 Div. Hqz. in Baramulla, SSP Baramullla as per The Web Story said, “we are looking at areas in the hinterland where militants receive little support and is being combated accordingly.
He claimed that there have been attempts throughout the sector and in other places to push for the shipment of weapons, ammunition, and narcortics to this side.
The top cop also claimed that balloons, which are typically sent more frequently to the Jammu side, have been sent to the valley side for the first time.
“This kind of push perhaps points to a kind of attempt to instigate certain propaganda bases again, and above such incidents, there has been a very good amount of recovery,” he added.
In an exclusive interview with The Web Story, earlier a top army officer said that there are currently very few active militants, indicating that security forces have been largely successful in reducing the number of militants.
