Says militants are facing ammunition crisis

Baramulla: A top army officer in Baramulla on Sunday asserted that there are currently very few active militants, indicating that security forces in the Kashmir region have been largely successful in reducing the number of militants.
A top army officer speaking exclusively to The Web Story said that the efforts of security forces pushed the militant numbers very low and that in the current times there are very few militants active on the ground. He said the militants are also facing an ammunition shortage.
The office said that short guns are being sent to this part by Pakistan just to kill the civilian population.
Answering the question regarding the presence of militants on launching pads, the top army officer said that there is no doubt militants are on launching pads, but alert jawans posted along the line of control (LOC) are giving them a tough time.
He said our forces are ready to deal with each and every situation for the people.
Pertinently, security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Hathlanga Sector of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
As per the police statement, 8 AK-74U, 24 AK-74 magazines, 12 Chinese Pistols, 24 pistol magazines, 9 Chinese grenades, 5 Pak Grenades, 5 wheat bags, 81 Pak Balloons, 560 rounds of AK-47, and 244 rounds of pistol were recovered from the area.
