Mohammad Aakib Shah

It is crucial to support the needy, homeless, orphans, and widows in order to keep society’s economic equilibrium. Islam places a strong focus on providing a helping hand for the underprivileged. Islam gave Muslims the sadaqah, fitra, and zakat systems to maintain economic balance. These systems make sure that wealth is not only concentrated in the hands of the wealthy and powerful but also that the poor can live comfortably.

Zakat was imposed on the wealthy, while no penalty was imposed for charity. Muslims were ordered to give charity from time to time from their wealth so as to receive its blessings and help the poor.

As soon as the month of Ramadan comes, the spirit of helping the poor and benevolence increases among Muslims. Some people give Zakat in the form of a ration to the poor, and some give financial help. It is certainly very important for the development and improvement of society. But nowadays, in the matter of helping the poor, a problem has arisen due to which the person who gives charity or zakat deserves punishment instead of his reward.

That error is “hypocrisy” and “showing off.”

Unfortunately, there has been a tendency in our society to distribute rations for the full month because this person or that person collected so much zakat, gave so much food, or did something similar.

Similarly, the way of giving rations, etc., to the poor is also condemnable. Making men, women, and children stand in lines for hours and hours in the scorching sun, abusing them, insulting them, making a stampede, rushing in front of their houses, shops, or factories, and hoping to get more fame. It is very sad to keep it.

Ironically, taking photos and videos while distributing rations and then broadcasting them on electronic and print media and spreading them on social media is also a very heinous act. They are hidden as if a great good deed is being done. In such a situation, someone should ask this poor mother what is going on in her heart.

On such an occasion, the ration giver should consider how much blood will be drawn if this occurs to one of his family members at that time. Help the poor It does not mean making a noise about his poverty.

Helping the poor is a very good deed, but due to these defects, this act also becomes infamous. If you look at the elderly and women standing in queues for rations, they are also forced to beg due to some compulsion. They are also human beings. The needy elders standing in the lines are also worthy of respect like our elders, and the women standing there are also worthy of respect like the women of our house. Orphans and small children, like the children in our home, are deserving of love.

All of them also have self-respect. Giving Zakat does not at all mean insulting the poor, compromising their dignity, or humiliating them in general. And if we look at women, they are also forced to beg due to some compulsion.

Payment of zakat is God’s order. If he does not give Zakat, then the same wealth will become a burden for him. When this is the obedience of God’s order, then what is the reason to show pride, arrogance, and pride over it?

Some people say at this point that they are all professionals and not needy. Well, even if they are all professionals, who ordered us to trade their honors? There is no doubt that professionals benefit more from such occasions. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone is a professional.

Among them are the innocent orphans who have no one to pat their heads with compassion. There are also children who have never seen the joy of Eid. Among them are the forced and widowed women who protect their honor in times of temptation. By doing so, only two meals of bread are eaten.

Among them are mothers and daughters who are overwhelmed by the cycle of circumstances. Among them are the elderly and disabled people who run just so that their children can also join in the joy of Eid. Every seeker does not stretch out his hands unnecessarily. We cannot know whose house has what constraints. Some people are white-clad and don’t ask questions of anyone. While there are some who fulfill their need by showing their compulsion, And some are neither needy nor deserving but still keep asking. does not stretch forward. It is important to take care that your wealth and zakat reach the deserving. If you have a passion to help the poor, the best way to do it is to put in a little effort yourself and find people who don’t extend their hands to anyone. also known as white cloth. Those who observe a fast by drinking water and break their fast only by drinking water but do not raise their hand in front of anyone. They live by eating whatever is available in the house, but they do not let anyone else feel their need or poverty. There are people who are lucky enough to eat meat only on the occasion of Eid ul-Azha, and some people do not. Even on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the meat does not arrive, but still they do not ask for it. If you really want to help the poor for the sake of Allah, instead of setting up exhibition camps and flocking like animals, show up among your relatives, streets, and neighborhoods. Look for white people and help them in a way that doesn’t hurt their self-esteem, so they don’t feel humiliated. This act of silence will not get you fame, but it will surely give you heartfelt and spiritual satisfaction. And the prayers that will come out of their hearts for helping the truly needy in a dignified manner will soon reach the level of acceptance. The order of giving charity, however, is that the money be hidden so that even the left hand does not know how much charity is present. But unfortunately, in our society, instead of giving charity secretly, charity is done through publicity. Zakat is considered a favor. In fact, this is called hypocrisy. This destroys sincerity, and there is a fear of losing all the rewards. It will not be rewarded in this world nor in the hereafter, but in the hereafter there will be punishment instead of reward for this act. Because hypocrisy is a very ugly act. Don’t feel humiliated.

It is critical that whatever work a believer does be done for the sake of Allah, that his heart be filled with the spirit of sincerity, and that his goal be to attain the pleasure and pleasure of Allah. The poor’s self-esteem, in particular, should not be harmed. In short, help the poor, of course, but do it respectfully. Do not reproach them for poverty.

The biggest illogicality in our society is that everyone who goes to the mosque suggests getting new fans, new carpets, and new paint, but nobody pays attention to the poor and needy who reside beside the mosque. It is also a matter of concern that in our Darul Uloom, Maulvi Sahibs always preach about giving charity and zakat in the name of their madrasas, but they do not even point out that there is a greater need than madrasas and mosques in the homes of the poor and that the stove has to be lit. But unfortunately, our society has always been deprived of a good political and religious leader. If someone in our society commits a sin because of poverty, then every member of the society is complicit in the sin, and everyone must account to Allah.

If we had understood Islam properly or if it had been explained by the time-honored Molvis and scholars, today’s people would not be ashamed of the Sopor incident. and does not put a question mark on human intelligence.
May Allah grant us the ability to understand and act. Amen
