Militants involved in civilian killings in the last three years have been eliminated: ADGP

Srinagar: The Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh, Tuesday said that Pakistan can’t decide who will live in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The police chief stated that the Jammu and Kashmir government has the authority to decide on people’s stay and employment and not Pakistan.
Earlier on Monday, the police chief said that border security is working strongly to thwart any infiltration attempt.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said on Tuesday that all the militants involved in the civilian killings in the last three years have been neutralized.
The police chief, while talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, said that there is only one militant left now among those involved in civilian killings, and efforts are on to neutralize him soon.
He said the only surviving militant, Adil Wani, is being tracked down.
Additional DGP Vijay Kumar said that the three militants killed in the encounter in the Munjh Marg area of the Southern District of Shopian included a wanted Lashkar-e-Toiba member. He said that one of the slain was a new recruit from the old town of Baramulla.
