Uri, Dec 07 : The strategic Nand Singh Bridge on the National Highway in Uri was dedicated to the public on Sunday, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurating the project through virtual mode.
The bridge, an important link for civilian and military mobility in the border sector, is expected to ease traffic flow and enhance connectivity in the region.
At the on-ground ceremony held at the bridge site, Commander 12 Infantry Brigade Uri, Maniesh Sehgal, as per GNS, presided over the event. He was accompanied by Colonel Parshan Bhardawaj, Commanding Officer 9 JAT, and Lieutenant Colonel Arvind Singh, Second-in-Command of 53 RCC.
Officials said the new bridge will improve logistical efficiency and support local movement, benefiting both residents and security forces deployed in the area.
The project, in the meantime, is also seen as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade border infrastructure and bolster essential road links across Jammu and Kashmir. (GNS)
