Srinagar, May 22 : South star Ram Charan, known for his role in the blockbuster film ‘RRR,’ captivated attendees at the prestigious G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Srinagar, Kashmir.
The three-day summit as per The Web Story, held from May 22 to May 24, brought together leaders from major economies to address global economic and tourism-related issues. Ram Charan, dressed in an elegant all-white ensemble, stole the show with his presence and cultural contributions.
As part of the event, Ram Charan participated in a panel discussion titled ‘Film Tourism for Economic Growth and Cultural Preservation.’ Distinguished guests, including Union Ministers Dr. Jitendra Singh and G. Kishan Reddy, as well as former CEO of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant, were present at the gathering. The actor also took the opportunity to connect with Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science & Technology, and G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Development of North Eastern Region.
Ram Charan’s visit to Kashmir held sentimental value for the actor as he fondly reminisced about his childhood memories in the picturesque region. His heartfelt reflections added a personal touch to the event, highlighting the beauty and significance of Kashmir.
In a remarkable display of his talents, Ram Charan showcased his dancing prowess on the G20 stage.
He delighted the audience by teaching the Korean Ambassador to India, Chang Jae-bok, the hook step of his Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu.’
The Korean Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet the renowned actor, who achieved fame in Korea following the success of ‘RRR.’
The choice of Kashmir as the host location for the Tourism Working Group meeting was a decision made by India, the presiding country for the G20 summit.
The region’s potential for film tourism, economic growth, and cultural preservation served as focal points for discussions during the panel. Union Ministers Dr. Jitendra Singh and G. Kishan Reddy addressed a side event on ‘Film Tourism for Economic Growth and Cultural Preservation,’ emphasizing the youth of Kashmir and the opportunities provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives.
Dr. Jitendra Singh commended the aspirational and forward-looking youth of Kashmir and acknowledged the numerous opportunities presented by PM Narendra Modi’s initiatives.
G. Kishan Reddy highlighted India’s appeal as a one-stop destination for film production, boasting beautiful locations, skilled technicians, and state-of-the-art post-production facilities capable of creating stunning visuals.
The event also witnessed the unveiling of the Draft National Strategy for Film Tourism.
The G20 Sherpa, Amitabh Kant, echoed PM Narendra Modi’s belief in tourism as a potent catalyst for job creation and praised Kashmir for its natural beauty.
Ram Charan expressed his fondness for Kashmir during his participation in the 3rd G20 Working Group meeting in Srinagar.
The renowned actor, who has recently gained acclaim for his role in the Oscar-winning film RRR, shared his experiences of visiting the region since his childhood. He highlighted his father’s extensive shooting in Sonmarg and other picturesque locations in Kashmir, which had drawn him to the area as a child. Ram Charan considered his visits to Kashmir during summer holidays as a significant achievement, thanks to his father’s involvement in the film industry for over four decades.
Ram Charan also mentioned that he had previously filmed in the same auditorium where the G20 Summit was taking place. In 2016, for his movie Dhruva, he portrayed a recruit in a police academy and had the opportunity to sit in the auditorium. He described the place as having a magical quality that captivated both him and others. Despite the various narratives surrounding Kashmir, Ram Charan expressed his admiration for the region, emphasizing the surreal feeling of visiting it. He concluded by stating that it would take another 95 years to fully explore the beauty of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Srinagar city wore a festive look, with people happily welcoming the G20 delegates.
