SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted light snowfall in scattered places in parts of Kashmir from tonight.

“Rain and snow is likely to occur in J&K during the next 24 hours,” a MeT department official told The Web Story.

According to the official, “weather is likely to be cloudy with the possibility of light snow over higher reaches from today (evening) to January 9th (afternoon) under the influence of the 1st WD today (evening) to today late evening light rain/snow over the plains of J&K and light to moderate snow in middle and higher reaches during January 8th and 9th.” From January 9th (afternoon) to January 11th (afternoon), he said, the weather is likely to be cloudy, with the possibility of light snow over isolated higher reaches of Kashmir.

“Under the influence of the 2nd WD from January 11th (afternoon) to January 13th (afternoon), the weather is expected to be cloudy with the possibility of light rain/snow over the plains of Jammu and Kashmir and light to moderate snow over the middle and higher reaches during January 12 and 13,” he added.
