A family in the Kandizal Awantipora area of the southern region of Kashmir witnessed a devastating incident when the groom failed to make an appearance to claim his bride on their special day.
According to reports received by The Web Story, the mehndi night was filled with joy and excitement, but the absence of the groom left the family shattered and in tears of anguish.
Farooq Siraj (name changed), the father of the bride, had arranged a two-day celebration on the 15th and 16th, where his daughter was to wed Ghulam Dar (name changed), a local lad from the same village. However, as time passed and the fateful moment approached, the groom failed to fulfill his commitment, leaving the bride’s family overwhelmed with anger and distress.
Reports further said that the anticipation and excitement that had filled the air quickly turned into anguish as the realization of the groom’s absence sank in.
Sources told The Web Story that the shocking and unfortunate incident quickly garnered attention from the neighboring residents, who expressed solidarity with the grieving family and demanded severe consequences for the responsible groom.
According to sources, it has been uncovered that the groom’s family intentionally executed a plan to keep him away from the marriage ceremony, fully aware that it was the auspicious day of the wedding.
When questioned about the motive behind such actions, sources explained that the groom alleged he was attending university and intentionally refrained from carrying a phone, cutting off all communication channels.
Meanwhile, the family and locals are urging the police and higher authorities to take prompt and decisive action in this matter.
