Srinagar, Sept 18: The Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari led Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party is set to turn tables on its opponents in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, as the party has been receiving an overwhelming support on ground level.
Up against National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party, has made fair growth in a span of few years since its launch in the district led by Usman Majeed and supported by the Imtiyaz Parray.
Staunch workers from different parties have given up on their previous ideologies and crossed over to Apni Party – a trend that has been catching up thick and fast.
The new entrants to the party have been joining the party with a belief in Usman Majid’s capability and calibre to alleviate the hardships faced by the commoners.
With the grapevine that Nizam-ud-Din Bhat may join back to PDP, things may somehow be challenging to Usman Majid, but the more it takes for Bhat to clear the air the more ground the latter would have covered by then.
The people well-versed with the political scenario say that Peoples Conference may be too distant in the competition as more and more people are deserting the Sajad Gani Lone party ahead of the upcoming elections.
According to these people, the changing political landscape and internal divisions within the National Conference have already bolstered the other political parties in the Bandipora constituency.
In the Sonawari Constituency’s Hajjin Block, the Imtiyaz Parry claims that it will break the decade-long rule of the National Conference and usher in the Apni Party to work exclusively for the people’s welfare and development.
In the Sonwari belt, despite the National Conference’s strong presence and consecutive wins, the party is facing quite tough challenges ahead of the upcoming elections.
Pulse of the public is that they want a change this time around to show the politicians taking them on ride, taking them on a ride.
In the Sonawari’s Sumbal block of Bandipora district, the People’s Conference, led by Yasir Reshi, continues to maintain a stronghold. Despite his party shift from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the People’s Conference (PC), Reshi has managed to maintain a significant level of support, making him a strong contender in the upcoming elections.
Reshi’s decision to switch parties has not deterred his supporters, who have remained loyal and have shown an increasing level of commitment to him. This loyalty is expected to work in his favor as he vies for victory in the forthcoming elections.
In the Gurez Constituency of the Bandipora district, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been steadily gaining ground and poses a potential challenge to the ruling National Conference party.
According to numerous political affiliates interviewed by The Web Story, the BJP has been garnering significant momentum in the Gurez valley as Fakeen Khan and his son Aijaz Khan have emerged as influential figures and strong contenders for the upcoming elections in the region.
Critics of Nazir Gurezi, who has held power in the region for a decade, argue that he has failed to fulfill his commitments to the people living in this border area. This perceived failure has created an opening for the BJP and has led to a growing dissent among the people of Gurez.
The BJP’s gradual rise in popularity in Gurez can be attributed to several factors, including the perception that the ruling party has not adequately addressed the needs and concerns of the residents.
It remains to be seen whether the BJP will be able to replace the long-standing rule of the National Conference in Gurez.
Meanwhile, The Apni Party has been fervently asserting its vision for progressive and transformative governance, promising to deliver on the aspirations and needs of the people. Their emergence on the political landscape has injected fresh energy and excitement, as they present themselves as agents of change – ready to steer Bandipora towards a brighter future.
However, the upcoming elections will provide a clear picture of the political landscape and the potential shift in power dynamics within the Bandipora district.
