Kanpur: In Kannauj, a women got married after her partner underwent gender reassignment surgery, recently.
The wedding ceremony was performed in Devin Tola area of Saraimeera, Kannauj with the approval of both the families. An elaborate celebration as held while following all the wedding customs.
Their wedding photographs and videos were shared on social media on Friday. Their relationship developed when a student from Badaun arrived in Bareilly for education and met a private sector professional in 2020.
They started spending time together and pledged lifelong commitment.
Initially their families opposed but the couple remained resolute and their persistent determination led to eventual acceptance.
The partner opted for gender transition and after researching a lot proceeded with intricate surgical procedures in Delhi. The partner has planned for a fourth surgery for a complete masculine appearance.
The couple also obtained legal consultation and submitted marriage registration documents to the local authorities.
The wedding, which was solemnised in November, came into public knowledge after their pics went viral on social media platforms. (Agencies)
