To Receives A Cash Award of 3 Crore

The Baramulla district has made a great advancement in the Aspirational Development Program by winning third place among all Aspirational Districts in the nation in the NITI Aayog’s Delta rankings for the month of September 2022..

The District has reached this milestone as a result of overall success, which enabled the District Administration to receive a financial cash reward of Rs. 3 crore from the Aspirational Development Program.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, expressed satisfaction with the ranking and commended the team of officers who worked tirelessly to achieve the rank under the Aspirational Districts Program.

Speaking on the progress of the district in the Agriculture sector, Dr Sehrish Asgar said that district administration has achieved this milestone based on development in the Agriculture and allied sectors.

She claimed that during the past few years, the District has worked hard to double farmers’ incomes by expanding the cultivation of crops including corn, maize, and mushrooms, among other things.

The DDC added that the district has adopted an integrated farming approach in which agriculture can be integrated with livestock, poultry and fish maintained at the same place to generate employment around the year and also get additional income.

Dr. Asgar said that Baramulla district has achieved a remarkable performance in Self Employment measures, Skill Development and other welfare schemes for which she extended appreciation to the functionaries of the concerned departments.

Meanwhile, DDC exhorted all the departments to work with added zeal and cohesion in order to get desired achievements for the overall development of Baramulla district.
