Salim Merchant, a well-known Bollywood music composer and singer, revealed that he had always wanted to record a love song in Kashmir. His recent release, “Nazneen Yaar-e-Maine Ye Tche Mulaqat,” became a worldwide hit with Kashmiris.
Salim stated that Kashmir is a stunning location with great people, and that it has always been his desire to record a love song here in Kashmir. Salim narrated this in an interview with a Jammu-based news agency.
The music director who fell in love with the beauty of Kashmir said Kashmir is really a great place for shooting.
The Bollywood music director hailed the Kashmiri people for their love and support of “Nazneen Yaar e Maine Ye Tche Mulaqat,” which took the internet by storm.
“This song has now become very close to his heart,” Salim added as per The Web Story Correspondent.
He said that the Kashmiri song has become a favorite for people all over the world, including those who don’t speak Kashmiri.
He claimed that everytime he visited Kashmir, he would listen to the music of local musicians.
“After hearing the music of traditional Sufi singer and lyricist Noor Mohammad, I committed myself to bringing him on board, and as a result, Kashmir and Bollywood became acquainted. Noor Mohammad is an amazing singer of Kashmir,” Salim narrated.
No one was aware of Noor’s potential or guts because he was such an unknown and nondescript figure. He used to perform in festivals and public places like a common singer.
Now even in this fast-paced and technologically advanced era, the common people in general and the youth section in particular are showing him deep appreciation and encouragement.
With his distinctive delivery, Noor Muhammad is now emerging from the shadow of the common man and becoming a well-known character in public. This is a sign of a good and forward-thinking continuous narrative in his personal life as well as his family standing..
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit previously said that “Naazneen” is the biggest song ever produced, designed, and presented in Kashmir.
He has stated that it is a tribute to the valley’s folk musicians and the rich history of Kashmiri folk music.
