Assures Relocation for Displaced Units

Srinagar, Oct 29 : The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced plans to reallocate land to facilitate the expansion of the Government Medical College (GMC) in Baramulla.
The decision was communicated in a written reply from the Revenue Department to MLA Javid Hassan Baigh during the ongoing Autumn Session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
Citing significant space constraints that are hindering the college’s development, the government revealed in. Written reply of which a copy lies with The Web Story/The Varmul Post reads, that land under the possession of the District Industries Centre is being explored for the creation of essential new infrastructure.
The Revenue Department will carry out a joint inspection and process the land transfer upon the formal request of the Health & Medical Education Department.
The reply further reads, to accommodate the current occupants, the District Administration is actively identifying alternate land for the industrial unit holders.
