Security forces demolished the Pulwama residence of Dr Umar Nabi, a key suspect in the recent car bomb explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort.
The car blast occurred on Monday evening near a traffic signal on Netaji Subhash Marg in New Delhi, killing 13 people and injuring more than 20.
Officials said the investigation confirmed that Dr. Umar, a doctor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, was driving the vehicle at the time of the explosion. He said authorities established his presence through DNA evidence recovered from the blast site, which was matched to samples provided by his mother.
Officials state the demolition is a strategic measure intended to deter individuals who support terrorist activities on Indian soil. This action follows similar demolitions targeting properties of those involved in other recent terror plots, including the Pahalgam attack.
The Delhi blast is connected to a separate security operation in Faridabad, where approximately 2,900 kg of bomb-making materials and sophisticated weapons, including assault rifles, were recovered.
The materials were linked to his two other associates, Dr. Muzammil and Dr. Shaheen Saeed. Both are currently in custody as investigators work to unravel the conspiracy behind the cache of explosives officials added.
