Srinagar, 11 Dec : In a continued effort to serve and uplift border residents, the Kalapahar and Pir Panjal Brigades organized a comprehensive three-day medical camp from December 08 to 10.
The camp provided vital healthcare services across the villages of Salamabad, Nambla, and Gingal.
A dedicated medical team, comprising eight civilian specialist doctors and five Indian Army Medical Officers, formed the backbone of the initiative. Over the three days, more than 1,350 civilians from these villages and neighboring hamlets received treatment and consultations.
The presence of specialists enabled focused care across multiple disciplines. Orthopaedic cases, including joint pain, old fractures, and mobility issues, received proper evaluation. The camp also provided essential gynaecological consultations, addressed common dermatological conditions aggravated by the harsh climate, and attended to paediatric concerns.
Residents of the villages expressed profound gratitude for the outreach initiative. Such camps extend far beyond immediate medical aid, serving to strengthen the bonds of trust, cooperation, and mutual respect between the Indian Army and the local populace.
The Chinar Corps, steadfast in its primary duty of safeguarding the nation’s borders and ensuring peace in the Kashmir Valley, remains actively committed to nation-building and community development. Through sustained programs in healthcare, education, infrastructure, disaster relief, and youth engagement, the Indian Army continues to demonstrate its commitment to the holistic upliftment of remote communities.
