Srinagar, May 25: Massive hailstorm created havoc in many areas of Kashmir, especially in North Kashmir’s Kupwara and Baramulla districts.

Reports reaching The Web Story said that Baramulla’s Rafibabad belt faced the maximum brunt as hailstorms caused huge damage to orchards and vegetation.

Growers from Rafiabad and Kupwara areas of north Kashmir told The Web Story over the phone that extensive damage has been done to their orchards and crop fields due to hailstorm and heavy rains.

The growers urged the government to compensate them to overcome the loss caused by the storm.

Pertinently, a meteorological department on Thursday forecast “fairly widespread to widespread intermittent light to moderate rain” in Jammu and Kashmir till May 26.
