Srinagar, May 25 : The National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir has released the ranking of public health facilities for the month of April 2023 on the Hospital Management Information System (JK e Sahaj).
Under the first phase of implementation, a total of 578 facilities have been covered, with plans to extend the initiative to other services in a phased manner.
In the category of Associated Hospitals of Government Medical Colleges, Chest Disease Hospital Jammu secured the top rank, followed by Psychiatric Disease Hospital Jammu, AH GMC Rajouri, Psychiatric Disease Hospital Srinagar, and Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar. The bottom five facilities in this category included GMC Handwara, Kashmir Nursing Home Srinagar, GMC Kathua, Government Hospital Lal Ded Srinagar, and Super Speciality Jammu.
Among District Hospitals, DH Poonch secured the first rank, followed by DH JLNM Srinagar, DH Bandipora, DH Kulgam, and DH Reasi. The bottom five facilities in this category included DH Ganderbal, DH Ramban, DH Shopian, DH Budgam, and MCCH Anantnag.
In the Community Health Centres (CHCs) category, CHC Seer attained the top position, followed by CHC Shangus, CHC Dooru, SDH Bijbehara, and CHC Uri. The bottom five facilities in this category included CHC Nowshera, CHC Taryath, CHC Yaripora, CHC Tangmarg, and CHC Kangan.
For Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs), PHC Mattan secured the first rank, followed by PHCs Kakapora, Sallar, Achabal, and Srigwfara. The bottom five facilities in this category included PHC Thakrakote, PHC Teetwal, PHC Massu, PHC Machil, and PHC Keran.
The JK e-Sahaj (Electronic System for Automation of Hospital Administration J&K) initiative was formally launched on November 4, 2022, as part of Jashn-e-Sehat by the Lieutenant Governor. It covers various types of facilities, including tertiary care, district hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres, and some new type PHCs. The system has been integrated with the Rapid Assessment System (RAS), the 104 Centralised Health Helpline for outbound calling, and the RCH portal of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The ranking is based on factors such as registration, conversion of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), registration of in-patients, and patient feedback uploaded on the JK e Sahaj portal in real-time for the month of April 2023. The detailed list of facilities can be found on the NHM website.
