Netflix has announced the release date of its upcoming film ‘Baramulla’, a supernatural mystery drama. Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film is set to premiere on November 7. It stars Manav Kaul and Bhasha Sumbli.

‘Baramulla’ is set in the snow-covered expanses of the Baramulla valley in Kashmir. It follows the story of DSP Ridwaan Sayyed, played by Manav Kaul, a police officer who has recently transferred to the region. Upon his arrival, Ridwaan faces the immediate challenge of investigating the mysterious disappearance of a young boy, setting off a series of events that blend mystery, family drama, and supernatural elements.

The plot intensifies as Ridwaan and his family settle into an old, dilapidated house. As he pursues the case, Ridwaan is forced to confront both his troubled past and a series of unsettling supernatural occurrences that disturb the fragile peace of the town and his personal life. The film explores how local rumours and legends intersect with reality, contributing to a tense and atmospheric storyline.

Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale, who also co-wrote the film with Monal Thaakar, described the unique approach to storytelling in Baramulla. He stated: “Kashmir is not just the setting; it’s a living, breathing character that shapes every moment and every mystery,” emphasising the importance of the region in shaping the narrative and the emotional depth of the film.

‘Baramulla’s focus on Kashmir as both setting and character, combined with its supernatural and emotional elements, positions it as a notable new entry on Netflix’s global platform. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande (Jio Studios), alongside Aditya and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios. The project is supported by a creative collaboration between Jio Studios and B62 Studios
